Chatham Soccer Academy

2025-26 Academy Registration Now Open

Only 25 New Spaces Available

Welcome To The 2025-25 Academy Season

Our Academy season starts in September and runs through to the end of June, just like the academic school year. When your school has a break — so do we. Families are committing to the full season, and that’s exactly what it takes to see real, lasting progress in a player’s development.

At the Chatham Soccer Academy part of United Soccer Academies, developing the next generation of well-rounded, confident, and skilled young soccer players. Our Academy is built on the belief that player development should mirror the structure, support, and consistency of a school year. When your child joins us, they’re joining a full-season program rooted in commitment, growth, and a proven developmental philosophy. We are not a house league. We are a structured, year-long Academy where training and gameplay are both used intentionally to help every player grow. Every session is led by trained, professional coaches following a standardized curriculum — never volunteers, never random drills, and never chaos.

Age Groups & Spaces Available

We are currently accepting players born between 2013 and 2019. Each season, we accept only 100–120 players at the Academy. This capacity is intentionally limited based on the number of qualified, paid coaches we employ and the training facilities available. Unlike recreational programs that prioritize volume and rely on volunteer coaches, we focus on quality and consistency. Most of our spaces are filled by returning players, leaving only a small number of openings across all age groups. There are no tryouts required, but spots are offered strictly on a first come, first served basis — once we reach capacity, registration will close. If you’re ready to commit to the full Academy year, we encourage you to secure your spot early.

About Our Sessions

Sessions are development-focused and combine both training and gameplay. Some weeks may be a 50/50 blend. Others may be entirely focused on skill-building or competitive scrimmaging — always based on what your group needs most.

At the youngest ages more time is dedicated to developing technical skills whilst also introducing basic concepts of space and team play. As players get older the majority of our sessions are focused on teaching the Principles Of Play using training activities and games. These principles are essential to understanding how to play the game regardless of format or level of play.

Locations

Outdoor Fall & Spring – Chatham Christian School

Indoor Winter – McNaughton Avenue Public School

Indoor Winter – St Teresa Of Calcutta School

Inter Academy Tournaments

Every Academy player has the opportunity to participate in six tournaments per year which are included in your fees - three in the Fall, three in the Spring. These are exclusive, inter-academy events designed to challenge players and build camaraderie across our three Academy locations Chatham, Lakeshore & Windsor. It’s a great way to introduce your player to a more competitive environment without a large added cost or commitment of a travel team and league. Participation is optional, but we highly encourage players to attend. These events are fun, developmental, and included in your Academy fees.

Let Us Be Clear We Are Not a Recreational House League

We are not a house league run by volunteer parents. We are a place of learning, training, and structured competition. Every coach in our Academy is paid, trained, and accountable to a proven development system that is consistent across every location and every session.

So if you are looking to just come and sit on the sideline and watch kids play games every week we are not there right choice for you. We emphasize teaching just as much as playing. We develop players who understand the game — not just kids who show up to kick a ball once a week.

We welcome beginners who are eager to learn but please understand this is not a short-term trial program. If you’re new to soccer, this is a great place to start. Just be ready to commit to the full Academy year so we can support your development properly. Improvement takes time, consistency, and dedication and we’re here to help you every step of the way if you’re ready to invest in the process.

Why Families Choose United Soccer Academies

Choosing a soccer program can be overwhelming. What sets our Academies apart from traditional house leagues and competitive clubs is our unwavering commitment to player development, professionalism, and accessibility. Here’s how we’re different — and why it matters for your child:

True Academy Model

We operate more like a private school than a community club. We don’t form teams and send them off to random leagues — we design a full player development pathway that is consistent, inclusive, and expertly managed. Our internal tournaments and training structure ensure every player gets high-quality coaching year-round.

Standardized Curriculum

Every one of our coaches follows the same training curriculum — designed to ensure progressive development through every stage. Your child will receive structured, sequential training that builds confidence and skill.

Paid, Professional Coaches

All of our coaches are trained, evaluated, and employed. They are not volunteer parents with little guidance or help. They’re not assigned to just one group. Instead, they collaborate and work with all players, sharing insights and ensuring consistent support. This creates continuity and removes the unpredictability of coach quality.

Full-Time Administration

Our Academy is run by a dedicated management team that handles communication, planning, scheduling, and problem-solving. This means families get timely responses, consistent messaging, and clear direction — not confusion or silence.

Inclusive Competitive

While many clubs focus on exclusive teams and tryouts, our inter-academy tournaments offer all players the chance to compete, learn, and shine. These events emphasize fun, learning, and improvement — not pressure or politics.

Long Term Development

We focus on the long game. While others may chase weekend wins or early trophies, we invest in building soccer IQ, technical ability, and love for the game that lasts well beyond youth sports.
